AMMIN' fATTIES and hOTTYS

report # 2

It happened Saturday June 8, 1996 in San Francisco.
A crowd gathered at 11th and Folsom for the only block party in town (yeah right).
Taj Mahal, Keb Mo, George Clinton and the P-Funk All Stars
(they have a new album you know),
and plenty of local talent jammed all night long.
Well, till 2 a.m. at least.
Throwing a couple of elbows was the only way to maneuvre thru
the crowd during the acoustically horrible P-Funk show.

They did rock, but I guess it's hard to sound good in a large alley. If you didn't shuffle into Slim's early, it was tough to see Taj inside. The best deal of the festival: definitely the 25 oz Fosters served in double french fries cups. They were an excellent price, and if you did't drink em fast enough, the cup would fall apart.

Who else was there?
Oh yeah, there was an 80's cover band complete with
wigs and costumes in the DNA lounge.
It was the first version of "Oh Mickey" heard in a while.
The dance party under the tent was HAPNEN. Sweet Virginia put
heart and soul into their performance at the Transmission Theater,
and the Mofessionals were in tha house at Slim's when
it all had to end.

Giving you the straight scoop on jammin' fatties and hottys,
we are pirAnts on the crust, and we don't lie.
